By her standards, Luka ran well. She clocked her season best time of 1
minute, 59.69 seconds but it wasn’t enough to take her through to the
final. The last of the eight qualifiers had a timing of 1:59.45. Luka
was good, but others were better.
PT Usha also pointed out lack of high-level competition as a reason for
Luka not doing so well at top meets against the best athletes. “There is
very little competition in India to keep Tintu occupied. We have to
travel a lot to take part in big tournaments and sometimes, it becomes
difficult to do that logistically. That is hurting her a lot,” Usha
said.
