Out of 7,51,032 candidates appeared for bank PO exam on June 17, 2012, just about 8% or 61,339 candidates have qualified for interviews. The Government has cleared proposal of common interviews for candidates aspiring jobs in banks, discarding the old practice of multiple appearances. The new system will be applicable from immediate effect. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS will hold the common interview on the behalf of 20 government banks. State Bank of India and its associates will not be part of this.
